He leaves for the Academy April 10th!

UPDATE: 2.23.11 
Jake had his psych test yesterday in the city..got the call this morning from the police department saying he PASSED and they are going through with him, he has to fill out a waiver tomorrow for them saying they can finish his background..so im guessing his LAST and FINAL test, the medical, will be scheduled for some time early next week!  So after that its onto PTI (police training institute) down at ISU in Champaign for 12 weeks (April 10th to June 30th)!

Ok so an update on me..where did I leave you hanging..?

Well Christmas flew by..

Its still winter which I am counting the days till nice weather so I can paint/stain/sand more furniture finds!  I havent been doing many home projects if any lately but I DID just do one today!  Well half way did one..

Im making a linen covered cork board to put above my new computer desk (which is another project I just got off craigs list for only 10 bucks!)..still in progress..didnt have enough upholstery tacks to finish it of course! 

Soo thats about it..winter makes me tired...I have no energy to do anything till this weather goes away!  The only thing exciting happening here is that we have begun the house hunt..which is more stressful that exciting.  Ill post pics of the house we just recently saw soon..time for bed!

its begining to look a lot like..winter..

As Ive gotten older Ive slowly begun to despise winter year after year.  Today was our first official day of snow/fluries/icky..enough to stick and make white patches everywhere.  Luckily mother earth and father sky have been kind to us so far..but Im thinking they are done with the niceness for a while!  I hate being cold all the time, my nose is either stuffed up or running, or both at the same time!  We (aka I) got the Christmas lights up outside and some decor up last weekend..gonna get the tree up this weekend if I have the energy.  Also got more Christmas shopping done today after I got off work early..just a few more things and were done!

pottery barn damage

Well I did some major damage today..luckily i had a 25 dollar gift card and 75 bucks from selling my old ipod..which was the only reason i was able to go on a shopping spree therapy session today.  (oh and i also made a gift registry that gives me a 10% discount when the 'event date' ends...idiots!) I could just live in Potter Barn..that and Homegoods...yummmmm!

'WC' aka water closet...8 bucks on sale for 3.99..gonna save it though for when we actually have a home thats actually ours to put it in, and for a few bucks i can justify putting it away and saving it!

 

2 more number hooks..got 3 and 4 to go with my 1 and 2...loves them.

 

And the 'i would never purchase with my own money because it costs a lot' was this huge glass hurricane..i basically copied the picture, got the same candle holder thats in it..but different leaf garland to go in it (click pic for bigger image)..im obsessed, its on our dining room table and it looks really neat, too bad my house doesnt look like the actual room in the picture..im trying though!

Now im going on a Christmas shopping spree...ive got some good coupons and plan on hitting up a few stores in the next few days to get some gifts checked off my list!  Id like to have my Christmas shopping done as soon as possible because i hate shopping the week before Christmas when even more idiots are running a muck...im not a fan of people!  

Oh and my chairs are ALMOST done..plan on heading out to joanns this weekend to get the final fabric, either dark grey or navy...the only two colors i like at the moment!  Pics soon....

Well it was our 5 year anniversary yesterday..what did we do you ask?  Nothing besides get into an argument before he left for work..as real as it gets people! Did i get my tiffany bracelet i wanted? ...no...

Lets see...are my chair seats done? NO!  i have two of them with foam finally on..have to go out today and get more foam for the other two and some batting so i can at least get the foam, batting, and the first fing layer of fabric on them before picking out the fabric peoples butts will actually be sitting on..which dont worry..will take another few months to find and put on!  

Oh what Halloween decorations do you have up? ZERO!  i have two pumpkins outside on our porch jake got at the pumpkin farm aka trader joes the other night on his way home from work (yeah hes got some real good holiday spirit) the other day while walking the dog i asked if we could go to a pumpkin farm and get some and he was like 'nuh uh' so i said with a puss on my face 'can you be more spirited!?'..what do i get back? him snottily yelling 'NUH UH!'...thats as 'spirited' at im ever gonna get with him..loser...

Our dog is naked..we shaved him (because he was DI SGUST ING from rolling around is goose shit!) so now he has to curl up in a blanket 23 hours of the day...at least hes clean laying next to my pottery barn pillows that i dont let anyone near! ha...i miss my 72 degree weather...

Ok im going to take my attitude to joann fabrics now..then im gonna come home and make rice crispy treats and mayyyybe do a load of laundry!

Its official..im addicted to crap..only the good crap though..ha

I just got a big piece of ceiling tin for fifteen dollars (and yes, 15 bucks is CHEAP for this piece of junk..)!!!  Its outside drying from me spraying it liberally with clear coat to keep the chippy white paint on it from chipping any further..

Its going over my ten dollar steal of a table in the dining room..the guy that i got it from has loads and loads AND LOADS of architectural salvage (including miles and miles AND MILES of old ceiling tins, all shapes and sizes) I didnt get to really dig in today though...he was very busy and practically ran around trying to find me a piece of tin that i liked and then pretty much shoved me out the door!  I told him i wanted to come back and explore for more than ten seconds so he gave me his cell and said call him anytime..so i plan on going back asap to find more JUNK!  I cant wait...ceiling tins..corbels (!?!!)..yum yum yum!

TGIF!

Jake went to his parents this morning while i went off to work..hes putting in a new stereo/speakers/sub/i dont know in his car and wanted his dad to help..so he took the dog this time (thank god!) and he wont be back till tomorrow night...so i thought id share my 10 dollar table now that i put it in the house and started decorating it!  

Chairs have a few coats of stain on them..gonna need a few more to match the table but were getting there - next step is finding fabric to cover the seats aka the best part of all of this!

Got some comfy sweater pillows at pottery barn the other day, love them, of course..but heres the thing - i can never have a kid because all the pretty stuff in my house (including my couch pillows) i dont let anyone touch..not even myself!  when jake lays down on the couch i cover the pillows with a blanket NO JOKE!  i have too many cute things...like my crappy ottoman that i got for 5 dollars, covered it with 6 dollar fabric, and now i think its gold or something..put your feet on it?! are you CRAZY!?  jake thinks this is pretty funny..touch my stuff and ill stab you!  I wanted to paint the dining chairs grey and jake was like 'no..if you paint them youll never let me sit on them or soemthing!' hahaha..now thats funny...and true! JK im not THAT psycho!

Another fun topic..were going to the zoo next friday!  Cant wait..i get to be amongst my 'peeps'!  Is it sad that the zoo is therapy for me?  animals put me in a better mood..

Still need to get more pussy willow branches to go in the birch vase thingy - and still need to figure out what i want on the other side of the bottom, im thinking a wicker basket..with chippy gray or blue paint!  See my corbel?!  loves it!

well i got my headache to go away for the most part..its as good as its gonna get in my book!  im pretty sure i have a lingering headache 247 so as long as i can function, im good...

got my TEN DOLLAR console table and have already finished staining it!  (yeah my chairs kinda went on the back burner since i thought this table would be fast and i got overly excited about it!) so i swear i will finish sanding the last chair HOPEFULLY friday after work..and then i swear i will start staining them sat! uhg..

***heres a pic of the table i took early this am after the last coat..went over the lighter spots a few min ago..so its DONE! (dont mind all the crap aka more projects in the background!)  For the most part it was an easy stain but those skinny legs with all the little details sucked!  But its easier to hide all your mistakes with something like this rather than a big piece like my table! Ill get a pic of it in my dining room soon, with all my new decor on it that i still am shopping for!  Got something today for it already!

Will has been to the vet..took him yesterday night!  85 dollars later...were still scratching but hopefully the pills kick in ASAP!

clean the house? um not so much..ive been kinda lazy this week..and i dont care!

going to ma's house tomorrow to help paint..and i gotta clean my grams house...nothin like stirring up some more back pain!  buts its for family and i love family..so a little back pain wont kill me..or will it!?

and yeah the winning a million dollars...so far...FAIL! 

OH i forgot..i got my ladder in my house..its in our master and looks awesome!  pics soon to come if i can get my butt into gear!
